Personally, I would recommend Stringworks
http://www.stringworks.com . I was in a music store here in town today and the violins were WAY overpriced for what they were offering. But of course, you don't want to buy a violin online without trying it out first - stringworks has a free 2 week trial period on all their instruments. So you don't have to buy it until you've played it for a while. I'm very happy with my violin from them.
