This forum has been rather helpful, so off I go again.
When I play the violin, at the begging of a piece, my left hand is straight, but it gradually becomes bent bold text TOWARDS ME. bold text I know this is natural for most people, but not for me. Help, anyone?
And I am right handed, so its the fingering hand.

try practicing scales in front of a bathroom mirror, keeping your wrist straight. (the bathroom will make you sound better they have awesome acoustics... trick for tape tests...) And actually, a collapsing wrist is pretty common among beginners because then it`s easier to hold up the instrument with your left hand instead of with your shoulder/neck... so make sure you can keep the instrument up without your left hand there... if not, adjust your shoulder rest. Make sure the palm of your hand doesn`t touch the neck, try to keep more vertical

good luck!

I have the oppositte problem!!! my left hand is always away from me at the wrist, but i have tried playing in front of a mirror and it helps. My teacher told me that my problem is because I place my little finger wrong. Its better now but i have to constantly watch it because I dont feel it when it happens.
