I have Gliga instruments of both models.

The Strad model is aboue 8.2" wide in the lower bout, while the Guarnerius is 8.5" wide and doesn`t fit every case. The G has more angular F holes. The G gives better lower end resonance, but the S is better top end, in my opinion.

The G is also louder & less forgiving, but that may just be my instrument.

Well, if you look at a Guarneri compared to a Stradivari, you`ll notice the shape of the Guarneri more "flowing", I guess. The bottom might be a bit wider too. The sound sometimes is more robust than a Strad.
