Hi all,

I`m just curious, what difference does an electric Violin make? If it adds loads of extra goodies why make the traditional, why doesnt every1 play electric?

Just wondering....I`m still very happy with my Gems

Regards

wow thats a good question.

ive never played an e-v but i hear its sorta like the acousic guitar compared to an e-guitar.

electric violins arent practical for, say classical, they are more of a rock to jazz thing beccause of the extra amperage you can put in

It just allows you to make different sounds. I have a pick-up on my regular violin. It just allows you to use effects. Classical violinists shudder at the thought of these things....

My violin teacher has an electric violin. It has a really artificial sound that kind of wants to make you shudder. Its kind of flat... monotonish... <---(i dont think this words are correct but nah...) but it just may be that electric violin. That certain model picked up the sound underneath the bridge.
