I totally agree with rushisqueer. I mean common when compared with the likes of the almighty Zeppelin...who the **** is Tool or Soundgarden or whatever?

Pink Floyd, Sepultura, DARK WAR, Reo Speedwagon, Ted Nugent...

If you have'nt heard of Soundgarden, it's no use. They arent even a band anymore.

It seems we have a lot of classic rock fans here. I agree you have to know where you came from before you can know where you are going. That is very true especially when talking about music. You need to pay respect to those who came before because they provide the gateway to what is now possible. However I don't think you should discredit what a modern band like Tool has done in comparison to the likes of Led Zeppelin, or Black Sabbath. They are both master of their craft in their period. Let us not forget that before Zeppelin, was the Beatles, before the Beatles was Elvis, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis, and before them was Muddy Waters and before him was Robert Johnson. All of whom made it possible for each generation of rock who's to say one is better then the other.

But on the the question at hand.
