The Glass Armonica is an instrument invented by none other than Benjamin Franklin, founding father of the United States. The instrument consists of a series of rotating glasses played with the finers.
Composers were also struck by the haunting sounds produced by Franklin's instrument. Mozart wrote two pieces for the instrument including this "Adagio and Rondo 617".
