Mine would have to either be Danny Elfman or Howard shore. they are both dynamically brilliant composers who apply their skills over a wide range of different types of movies. Danny Elfman is excellent at whimsical and odd ensembles (such as Edward Scissohands, Corpse Bride, and Nightmare before Christmas); whereas, Howard Shore is a genius at full orchestral pieces to capture a wide range of strong emotions (such as his application of nationalist feeling in Lord of the Rings.) They are both brilliant composers and are excellent in their own fields. I jsut can't choose which one I like more.
