if you have ever marched in a drum corps can you give me any advice about getting into one? thanks

I know someone who has marching DCI. He was my tech for Marching Band this past season. He treated us like we were in military camp. So I`m assuming that`s how it is. My friend also tried out for DCI about a month ago. She didn`t make it, but she tried out for flagline. She said that the horn lines practiced basics pretty much all day, and learned music and drill. And the Guard learned a dance and drill and had to perform it. You were graded on a scale from 1-3. If you got a 1, you`re in. 2 Needs to come back, but you need little work and 3 means needs more work and you don`t make it. You were constantly being graded. My advice for you is to just have a good attitude and work really hard, and you should do pretty ok. But that`s pretty much all I know. Hope it helps you a bit. =P

Hey I just tried out for Colts which is a division 1 corps. I`m telling you it is soooo awsome. It is very tough and they expect a lot out of you like standing at attention and playing for 17 hrs strait basically but in the long run it is sooo worth it!! If you are even thinking about doing it I would suggest it 120%. It is deffintly a once in a life time kinda of experience.
