Reenie, I think you will find that different flutes respond differently to different lips. If you look at my yahoo flute net files you will find recordings of my Gemeinhardt flute.

Here:

The live concert recording is with my original "model J" head. It certainly lacks volume in comparison to a professional head, but it can be heard loud and clear in a large recital hall. The "we'll be right back" is the same venue and you can hear the audience in that one.

Are you both Reeni and Reenie? I noticed both are actively posting.

They may react differently to different embouchures, but I agree with Reeni, they don't have the best of design headjoints and more often do produce a stuffy sound for a lot of people.

Reeni, I have never had to try at all for beautiful tone. I agree with what stephen said, different flutes respond to different lips. Just because you cant play Gemeinhardt's doesnt mean others can't.

I can get a beautiful sound out of just about any flute even a Gemeinhardt, but why would I want to? They play like crap and I am very happy with my Brannen flute, thanks. The only reason anyone plays on a Gemeinhardt is because they can't afford a real flute or have never tried a good one. That is too bad that GOOD flutes have to cost so much money.

You really must demonstrate how much better your $10k flute sounds. I want to hear that $9000 difference ring out.

I have a mp3 recording of myself, but please let me know how I can put it on here so that you can hear it. I would be more then happy to dementrate how the lower register on a REAL flute should sound like.

This site does not have an upload section, but you can join Flutenet, opt out of e-mails, and have access to their files section to upload.

I sincerely hope you are as good as you say, as that would be a treat. It wouldn't make up for your lack of ability to "sugar-coat". You should work on that. Though I am not without guilt, I'm not THAT blunt (I hope).

Once you have uploaded the file into your own folder you can right click the folder and click "copy shortcut" or "copy link" and paste it here. It will automatically become clicky.

You can e-mail it to me at sylvangale@fuzzycloud.net and if you wish me to also upload and link it here for you I will do so.

A direct file link is possible, but it only works temporarily if you try copying the actual file shortcut (it is possible if you put the file name and extension at the end of the folder link though).
