Hi, im 2nd year university student from Canada, and ive been looking at websites about the flute i purchased last year. Its used, not sure how, at least 10-30. I just wanted to know how much it should have been priced at and how to find out what model it was. It's an armstrong, the head is silver plated, dont think the body is, and its an open hole, without the b-foot. I purchsed it for around 400 canadian (it was a bursary i won in a music competition so i used it for the flute and books . Any help would be grateful.

Is the word silver, solid silver or sterling written anywhere on the body of it? If not, then it is silver plated and would be equivalent to the model 103 which sells new in the US for under $500.

The model number is on the receiver. This is the area of the body above the keys where the head fits into. Across the front it says Armstrong and should have the model number and such.
If it says silver on the head, It only means that the head may be silver. You can tell by looking at the area where the head fits into the receiver of the body. If this is a different colored metal, then it's plated. Same for the body where it fits into the foot joint. Different color type of metal then it's plated.

Yes, that would make it a model 303.

I am sure you could. You would need to find an Armstrong dealer to get one for you.
