excerpts are good, just use the actual parts, not excerpt books, you can get them from flute world and patelsons here in new york.

If you really want to impress a college audition panel, memorize the solos from the big orchestral pieces, and, with the original part, be ready to play other parts beyond the solo. Excerpt books leave too much out.

Excerpts are used in district band auditions...better start preparing! *BIG BREATH* Ooh you guys! i took off my braces :D..it feels weird,..different. I guess i need to get used to it. BUt i did get a sound^^. IT was better then i thought it'll be. It was much worse when i got my braces on..but having it off. It's not that bad adjusting to the flute..(i think) I don't know..i'm scared!! YIKES!..i hope everything goes O.K at least i have a pretty smile
