No, there's no honey in Maltesers... at least no honey flavour. Just malty flavour and chocolate.

Candy corn sounds a bit odd! I don't think we have anything like it here in the UK... well nothing corn shaped.

Snickers almond is probably just what we call Snickers here - there are nuts in it anyway, but none in a Mars bar. Mmm... haven't had a Mars in ages! This is making me think about it, may have to buy one tomorrow!

Maybe that will help explain it. It just LOOKS like kernels of corn, but it doesn't taste like it! Also, it is more of a mallow type of candy.

Snickers usually have peanuts in them, but the new Snickers Almonds obviously have nuts, and maybe the nougat is a bit diferent also.

Here's some info from Wikipedia about Mars Bars:
"There are (or were) two slightly different products known as the Mars Bar. Both contained nougat topped with caramel and covered with milk chocolate. However, the product formerly sold as Mars in the USA contained almonds in the nougat, whereas the Mars still sold elsewhere does not. The Mars Bar outside the USA is very similar to the Milky Way sold within the United States."

As stated before, the bar sold in the US that used to be called Mars Bar is now Snickers Almond.

My friend went to Austria last year to go to the Mozart festival and brought me back these things call Mozart balls. That was one of the best chocolates that I have ever tried.

American chocolate is milk chocolate for the most part, as opposed to dark or bitter chocolate. Some of the mass produced cheap stuff can be rather mediocre, but some is really good.

I particularly like some of the better chocolate from shops. Even See's chocolate is usually pretty good. (Is See's in the western USA only? I know my mother-in-law in Iowa loves it and likes us to send her some for holidays.)

Local shops are great. You know, the family run businesses that make the best candy? There's a place here in the valley called Cereta's candy. Their mint chocolate is soooooo good!

Blue Bunny ice cream is the best. As far as I know, it is only available in the states, specifically in Iowa as Siux City is ice cream captial of the world. It is absolutely amazing and if you go right to the store by the factory, you get sooo much ice cream. Mmmm I am getting hungry just thinking about it. Makes me want to go back to Iowa, but its way too far away. I'm going to go eat some ice cream now.

And how about sponge candy? None of the southerners here know what that is. When I lived in NY it was very popular. That can't make it in the south because of the high humidity or because they are just not bright enough to figure it out. LOl! One or the other...

After posting that, I thought I should refrase that. I should say that in the specific area of the South that I am in (Not all the south) might not be bright enough. Yeah... I really love where I live, can you tell?

Going back to Cold Stone...my favorite is the Dulce de Leche. My favorite chocolate is French. It's called Michel Cluizel. It's roughly US$20 per pound at Whole Foods. Obviously, being a starving college student, I don't eat it very often. Oh...it only comes in little teardrop shaped morsels too. The good thing about it is that there is no Soy Lecithin in it. Makes a great (but expensive) hot chocolate during the winter season!
