well i recently bought a flute off ebay, i know it isn't recomended, it sound fine to me and it is was never played before me so is practically new but it says x.g USA 1989 on the end of the mid section, it has open holes and i was wondering if any one has heard of them and knows what problems to look out for and if they will be expensive to fix, i will take a picture once i have polished the fingerprints off it (that i just put on playing it)

Are you sure that X isn't a K? If it's a K, then it's going to likely be an upper-end Gemeinhardt, though which model is a bit harder to figure out(not very good back then with numbering and consistency)
