BTW, I'm loving my new Hammig piccolo! Such sweet sounds!

Well, most are sweet sounds. My high B-flat is worse than fingernails on a chalkboard if and when it comes out. Sometimes I can't get the note at all. It's not the horn, it's me on any piccolo. Any tips?

Try several alternative fingerings. You should find one that suits the piccolo (and your embouchure) to give you a better and easier sound.

According to the fingering charts I've tried there is only one fingering for high B-flat. Anyone know of any others besides the basic?

That website has an alternative fingering page for piccolo:

If you continue to have problems with most of these fingerings check that the Bb key is being closed properly by the F key (and try the lever by the F key or the thumb plate). If you can locate an old publication eg Otto Langley you will find some different basic fingerings!
