O.K. Arak, you might as well just leave, Dustin quite OBVIOUSLY has this so called "superiority complex" issue. I can tell just by the way he worded his entry. It`s clear from the way HE put down smaller/lesser known companies that he has a problem with something. I was putting down the way he said THAT. The spelling was a minor detail in his twisted, bizarre, issue. YOU, completely MISSED the point of the entry. You focus on one thing and can`t let go. Now it`s you who I will label as an INSUFFERABLE SNOB!!! Also, in what way do I sound like I have a superiority issue when all i did was tell him how he was acting. I like to be honest. It can be a virtue, but I guess with you it`s a burden.

I`d prefer to discuss flute issues or something REALLY out-of-the-box and controversial, but seeing we have once again got into defense and attack mode:

"O.K. Arak, the way Dustin said "Hell No" was probably a dead giveaway to his intelligence."

I`m glad you used the word `probably` but `possibly` would have bee more accurate. There are plenty of VERY intelligent people on this planet who speak and write `outside the box`. Even Shakespeare was possibly one example in his day. Some very intelligent people actually see PAST the need to advertise their skill in putting on an artificial cloak of refinement in their language. Perhpas you have yet to meet such people. "Judge not lest you be judged" comes to mind as an appropriate saying from a VERY intelligent man.

"Also, I said one thing about spelling"

I am totally aware of that, and that is why I commented on it. I did not comment on the rest of what you said because I had nothing more to say. I agreed with it.

"I`m not the only one in this forum to comment on it."

This is a forum. I was writing to the forum. I made a general comment re being pedantic about spelling. There was no need for you to take this so personally and get so emotionally defencive.

Was there something that you think is actually WRONG and incorrect with my suggestion? The fact that other forums ban spelling comments suggests that my comment was quite valid and worth pointing out.

"I said one sentence on it. The REST of my entry was about the way he said so called "No Name" Brands should be avoided. That was the main idea of my entry. You completely missed the point.?"

You made two points. I commented on one of them. I did not comment on the other because I had nothing more to say in the matter. In general, a forum gets rather pathetic if a few dozen people write posts saying "I agree," so I don`t do this unless somebody`s valid viewpoint seems to need defending.

"...Now it`s you who I will label as an INSUFFERABLE SNOB!!!"

I think you must have a meaning that differs from the meaning in dictionaries. Otherwise, you have a completely wrong impression of me.

Example: "a person who sets too high a value on social standing and wealth, seeeking to imitate or associate with those he believes to be his superiors and despising those he regards as his inferiors"

BTW there is nobody here I despise. There is no idea in this forum that I depise, otherwise it would have been deleted by the moderator. There are ideas here that I agree with, and those I have a different view of. A forum is for discussing such ideas.

"I like to be honest."

So do I. There is a place for saving the honesty for the more important things. And yes, I am sometimes guilty in this respect. Do you approach your best friend, overlook the good in him/her, and honestly tell him/her every tiny thing you don`t quite like about him/her, including some quirky little habit of saying something like "Hell no!"?

Have a happy day. :-)
And please excuse my spelling mistake(s) I left at least one for you to have the pleasure of finding. :-)

That was me being Calm. I just added the !`s and CAPs for a little extra uhmmph.    14:38 on Saturday, June 18, 2005

First of all Arak, I will (reluctantly) commend you on a few of your comments. "Do you approach your best friend, overlook the good in him/her, and honestly tell him/her every tiny thing you don`t quite like about him/her, including some quirky little habit of saying something like "Hell no!"?" This is partially correct. No I would never do that to a person who I respect or have a friendship with, but seeing as those two things do Not apply here, they are expendable. But you are wrong about me attacking "Hell No". I chose that, along with other things, to pick at with him because the way he wrote everything else irked me to the bone. I did not only pick at that, once again you missed the point of that entry. I completely attacked the way he wrote about small companies and avoiding them because, frankly, he was being a snob there. I hate it when people talk all about the label. Also, once again, the whole spelling thing is just a minor detail I chose to pick at, which you chose to blow way out of proportion. What is the point of geting straight A`s and working sooooo hard all of your life to succeed, if you aren`t going to act like it. You Need to apply and Use what you learn, otherwise, what`s the point in learning it. Also, I left a spelling error in this for YOU to pick at being as YOU seem to keep bringing it back up. As always, have a lovely day!

Jupiter flutes are not bad at all. They are actually a very nice intermediate flute model, much better than Gemeinhardt i would say, and i would know from experience since i have a jupiter body.

my friend has a BandNow flute for marching. its not that great. It usually doesnt play many notes, like low F or high D, and many others. but shes also used it for 4 years. if you plan on using it occasionally or plan on buying a better quality one in a year or 2, Id say whatever. Dont expect high quality sounds, tunability, or for it to even hold up well.

Do not go with a bandnow flute-some schools I know do not even allow their flute students to use one, not even for practice...
Of course, this is a repeat of everyone else`s opinion....

DON"T EVER THINK ABOUT GETTING ONE OF THOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know someone who once bought one of those flutes and in a month, one of the keys broke off!!! PLEASE!!! DONT buy JUNK FLUTE!!!!!!! I suggest Armstrong(used is about 300-400, beginner), Jupiter, and Yamaha. I currently own a Armstrong 104... I think that would be a good flute.
