I need a daily exercise on high notes because that's where I suffer the most. Middle register and low register is no problem at all but that high register seems to be high maintainence. If slack off a little for a few days...well you know. Anyway can someone recomend a good source for daily high note maintainence that's not too difficult? I have only been playing a little more than a year.

one has to find notes on flute, not just force them out...

the best way to develop a good and even and relaxed high register is to be sure to approach the notes..

simply start in a range where you are comfortable and gradually ascend chromatically, connecting note to note, hold each one for at least f counts at 60 on the metronome...

For fingers, Try
D.S. WOOD: Studies for Facilitating the Execution of the Upper Notes
or the
BARRERE Flutists Formulae
You can start easier and do what you can but use them to the full range as you gain skill.

For tone, The Moyse De La Sonorite is always good for extending things more carefully and slowely. Doing a scale but extending the range by taking things up or down always helps but always remember your tone.
