Good luck with it! I think that you would be really happy on a Miyazawa. Still, if you are able to swing it, try and get your hands on a Brannen or Powell too, they are REALLY nice!

No, I wouldn't bother with a Sonare. Get a real Powell. The Sonare is nothing like a Powell it only has a headjoint designed by Powell. Not a very good one either. I would keep your search to what you have plus maybe try some more handmade flutes in the process. You can always look for a used flute and get more for your money depending on what condition they are in.

Yeah I will do that. But I fell in love with miyazawa. I'll compare it to powell. If I don't sound on miyazawa good I'll try Altus and Powell too. I don't really want a really expensive flute since I'm in the middle of process now. I can think about it later, when I'll reach the professional level.

I do believe that the Miyazawa 402 is in the same price range as a Powell Conservatory model and the Muramtasu DS that you mentioned is even more. So, some of the one's you wanted to try are just as expensive as Powell. I fell in love with a Miyazawa Boston Classic model with Brogger system at the flute fair. It was REALLY nice! The only think I am not particularly fond of on them is the upper register runs very sharp for me. I guess I am used to American models. If I were to switch flutes, I would love to go with one of those. I don't play as much anymore though, so I can't justify it.
