What do you guys think about the Elegantes that used to be handmade in Japan? Do you think they're much better than the current ones?

No opinions from me, never played a Pearl, but I'd like to know in what way the Japanese Elegantes are better?

Also, is there any online resource that provides info on which Pearls are/were made in Japan and which in Taiwan?

I'm hoping to like the new 795, as I just ordered one on trial from Flute World! I know it's not the Japanese made one, but it's in my price range and looks like a nice flute overall. I'll let you all know when I've tried it.

The Elegantes used to be handmade in Japan until a few years ago (I believe), when they began making them in Taiwan, not handmade. The Japanese ones are better because more time was put into the making of each flute, resulting in better sound compared to the newer ones.
