Hey! I'm new to this forum. Some questions for you guys...

1. What piece are you currently working on?
Sonata V in e minor, by JS Bach.
2. What kind of flute do you have?
Yamaha 584-H
3. How long have you played?
I played for 6-7 years, started private lessons 3 years ago.
4. Music Major or not?
No. I just don't think it's the way to go for me. I'm actually thinking about Biochem + English.
5. Favorite flute piece (that you may have not actually "played"?)
I can't pick one...there are too many! I've recently heard Pahud's interpretation of "Undine" by Reinecke. Pretty cool!
6. Goals for the year?
Improve my technique, esp in the upper register. Consistency in breathing.
7. Random facts
Piano is my main instrument! I've been playing it for 11 years...

Hi and welcome, Spark12!

1. What piece are you currently working on?
"Bist du bei mir" (Bach, arrangement in 'flöjt.nu 3' )
"Colors of the wind" (in 'Mera flöjt' )
"La Donna e mobile" (from Rigoletto, in 'Mera flöjt' )

Should focus mainly on the first piece, but the others are so fun...

2. What kind of flute do you have?
Yamaha 211

3. How long have you played?
2 Years. Started as an adult.

4. Music Major or not?
No. Whish I was though!

5. Favorite flute piece (that you may have not
Hm, hard to say since there is much beautiful music out there... From what I have played I loved the "God rest ye merry gentlemen" Christmas carol duet I played this Christmas. I also look forward to play more Mozart, but I'm not sure what what flute pieces there are and which once are really nice. While waiting for this I enjoyed playing "Der Vogelfänger bin ja ich!" arrangement in 'Flöjtgodis.

6. Goals for the year?
Keep enjoying flute playing,
find a way to keep improving (am worried since it seems to be much harder to actually improve now compared to earlier.),
memorize more Christmas pieces next year.

7. Random facts
I play a little piano too, but focus the very limited practice time I have on the flute.

Hi Spark12 an welcome to the forum!
Now, to answer some of the questions...

1. What piece are you currently working on?
Nothing. I only pick up the flute about once a week now. I mostly practice etudes and studies when I do pick it up.
2. What kind of flute do you have?
Miyazawa 602 with Nagahara headjoint
3. How long have you played?
Oh gosh, I think like I am going on 22 or 23 years now. Most of my life!
4. Music Major or not?
Natta! I am more of a flute major knowledge freak. lol!
5. Favorite flute piece (that you may have not actually "played"?)
Anything by Doppler!
6. Goals for the year?
None really. Just going with the flow and hope to get the house sold by the end of this year.
7. Random facts
I would rather be taking apart and fixing a flute rather than playing most of the time now. Animals are a huge part of my life. Competitive or uppity flute players irritate me. I have tried to play many different instruments but always get irritated with them and go right back to the flute. I am very crafty and get bored easily, I like to keep busy.
