Don't you love it when your flute finally vibrates under your fingers? I feel like I'm singing through my flute! How did you feel when your flute "sang"?

After switching to a more intermediate flute (a Pearl), I was upset that my tone was not as great as when I played on the beginning Jupiter flute. Now that I feel my flute vibrating again, I'm happy for spending so much time practicing.

This usually means your tone is good, right?

It means that your pads are very well seated. The Jupiter may have not been vibrating in your hands the same way because it needed some tweaking by a repair tech. It is not fair to compare different brands of flutes unless they are both set up properly.
I only play on flutes that are always well adjusted so they always have the effect when I play.

As another flute gal on this forum used to say, "An intermediate flute is just an over glorified student model flute." It is purely the design, not the holes or the silver content. Intermediate and student models are the same thing. It is just a way for marketers to jack up the price! It always amazes me how many gullible flutists there are out there!

You see them as rude, I just see them as being honest.

No, I was quoting Kate aka Kara. She said it way before you were ever on this forum. I gather that you either think just like her or are quoting her.

Thanks Binx, but like I have said before, please just call me Kate

I am sure that I am not the only one to ever have thought or said that.

Micron, please don't start this again! Binx is not me, I am not Binx for the LAST time! I happen to have sold a flute to Binx so there is a connection there, nothing more. So give it a rest! Your obsessiveness is not healthy.

And who cares who said what. I was never trying to copy your thoughts so get over yourself!

I think every flute is different, even two flutes of the same model may play differently depending onthe player, i for one can barely make a decent sound on a geminhardt yet make a lovely sound on a pearl, and an even better sound on a bundy, which makes no sense, but just seems to be my tendancy, :P lol

Oh no Micron! You caught me! I am a drag queen. You don't mind if I borrow that same lipstick for your party that I used last year do you? I heard you go under the name of Meme. Good name. I am still trying to decide on which one I should use.
