Hi everybody!

I'm looking for some recommendations on good beginning flute lesson books. I played many, many years ago and used the old Rubank Method books in Elementary and Junior High. While they were adequate and I may even pick those up on ebay, I'm looking for some recommendations that are more recent. I will be learning on my own, at home, so if they offer a CD or DVD that would be a bonus. Money isn't the only consideration for which method/books/etc I choose but I would like them to be within reason.

Having not played for 20 years I am quite rusty but I do remember a few fingerings. I can't remember what's on my to-do list on a day to day basis, but I can remember the fingering for b flat and f. Such is life...

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately my favourite method books are in Swedish, but I remember liking "A new tune a day". It had a cd, and I think the instructions were easy to follow.

Not really a method book, but Jen Cuff apparently recomends "Flute for Dummies". I was thinking of ordering it to check it out, but have not done that yet.

Here are some other books for beginners:

Another thing I'd do is to go to the library and check out the books there. Just to have something to compare with.

Good luck, Opalescent_angel!
