Hi, I'm new to the forum and just bought myself a FA Reynolds Piccolo for $10 at the Music Go Round ( big money I know). Now usually I am a low brass person so I am not sure where to go to date this little girl, but would love to know more. She is marked FA Reynolds Cleveland Ohio the only number I can find is 1908 with a big C under that. She is in tough shape but still plays, so any help would be appreciated in finding out more about her.

Dating a piccolo is much more difficult than dating a flute. For one thing, you have to ask the piccolo's father first. If he allows you to date her, then you have to buy her flowers and a bit of cork grease before she'll go out with you. However, if she's all silver, you'll have no problems at all. The silver ones are easy!!

For an uncommon maker such as Reynolds, you would have to either contact the maker directly or find a history of that maker.

I'm not sure if this "Reynolds" is the one you want, but there are no four-digit serial numbers listed. These are for Reynolds flutes rather than piccolos.

Sounds like this Reynolds was based mostly in Cleveland in the 1950s and 1960s.

The letter "C" on your piccolo might mean "Cleveland" or "key of C" (as opposed to a D-flat piccolo, which was much more common in the 1950s than it is today).
