Hi

I am a singer who also play the flute and the oboe. I donīt have had any problem with the embouchure when I started to play the oboe, actually it helped me with the embouchure for the flute. The breathing is much different when you play the oboe but it is not a problem being aware of it. The only problem I have had is mixup of the keys, especially the g sharp / f sharp thrill, but You should be aware of that it much, very much, work You have to do with the oboe compare to the flute and making the reeds takes lots of times.

I also am a flute/oboe player. I have not had any troubles of this sort except for key mix-sups (when I started oboe I began accidentally fingering high F on flute like forked f on oboe). When I started, I found it was hard to get good tone directly after I played oboe, but now I often double and these problems have faded. Besides, the world needs more oboists.
