I am about to audition for a major youth orchestra, and cannot decide what I should audition with. Can ya'll help? I have been playing the flute for 3 years, and I'm in 9th grade, but I practise a TON {3-4 hours a day!} and am very interested in being in this orchestra. I'm thinking about doing a excerpt from one of the Mozart concertos....or two short pieces from Bach's Partita....what would you do if you were in my shoes? Thanks guys.

Maybe the "Fantasia" by Fauré might be a good idea.

Zevang, you read my mind, I was gonna say the same piece, short and full of style and flair, really allows the flutist to show off

I just listening to the piece on youtube. It's GORGEOUS! Completely my style, and it will let me show off my tecnique and tone {my strong points}. I'm totally going to ask my teacher about doing it. Thanks for your help, guys.
