HELP!!! I have just passed my grade 6 and my teacher said i should really look at buying a new flute. I have no idea where to start. My price range is about £500-£700. I have read up about how different makes work, and i would quite like a flute that is easy to play, i have been recommended a trevor james. i have a bit of problem with my articulation so a flute that would help me be very expressive and sensitive to tonal colours. I would prefer to have a french with offset g. Any ideas would be greatly recieved!!!!

Sorry, I did not see the £ so if you buy from U.S.A. you might get problem with taxes etc. With your budget you can´t buy a new professional flute and the only intermediate flutes I like are the flutes from Azumi, but still it might be better to buy a used flute.

my friend just said she might give me a cantabile 2 for £600 is that a good deal??

If this cantabile 2 is in really good shape I think it might be a good deal.

yea it suits me really well because it is really easy to play. it is in very good condition and i know i can trust the girl selling it. does anyone recommend any shops in england, near london preferably but coud go further away, i live in essex. i have already been recommended all flutes plus but which do really go deals on their sales, but any other shops might work.

IMO, the best flute for a student in your situation that's looking for a good inexpensive upgrade would be a used Yamaha 300 series. The handmade headjoint will give you a much better tone and it's a good 2nd flute choice.
