I have been searching my local music shops and they just dont have any.
they dont even have fully plastic piccolos; just silver plated.
are there any trust worthy music websites to get them from.
i have a gemeinhardt piccolo with a Plastic body and a silver head. it is great! i can stay in tune and all the notes come out fine.
i only have one problem.
it projects way too much. i just want a less projected sound and it sounding softer

I would try Fluteworld, J.L. Smith, or Carolyn Nussbaum. They are all flute specialty stores. Perhaps they can special order one for you.

Musiciansfriend.com lists the 4p, maybe they could provide a headjoint separately. You might also watch eBay. An eBay picc would be likely to have a playable headjoint.
