ok, so right now i have a armstrong 800b flute.. which i love but im trading it in for something only a couple hundred more... but im looking at the pearl 695 or a 665 special edition with forza headjoint... i cant really find any major differences, and right now a store is selling the pearl 665 with the forza headjoint for only 1000.. so i think i might hop on that deal.... suggestions???

well if we have a expert here then also, WHATS THE DFFERENCE BETWEEN THE elegante and dolce?!?! i have read the specs over and over and i just dont understand what makes a 1000 difference between the two. also i'm starting to lean towards the 695... would that be good to get me through the rest of sophomore year and till me first year or two of music school? or would i need a something more pro for my senior year into freshman in college? i obviously cant afford the maesta or opera series.. but my aunt owns a 14k rose gold maesta.... and since i played it i have been hooked on pearls i was literally singing on that thing... so until i play others for a long time i really want to stick to pearls..

Dolce vs Elegante, difference is only that Elegante is all silver tube. Dolce is Silver Head, Plated tube.

665 vs 695. (Quantz vs Dolce) First off, to avoid confusion, the regular 665 does not come with a Forza headjoint. 695 Dolce always comes with a Forza headjoint. The biggest difference in 665 and 695 is that the keywork on the Dolce is upgraded. Also upgraded on 695 are the case (wood instead of standard french case with 665), and the accessories are also upgraded.

We are currently offering 665RBE's with the Forza Head (instead of the regular quantz head) on a limited basis. You can at least get the better headjoint without the expense of all the other upgrades that come with the 695 Dolce.

It's the same pinless mechanism on both, but the keywork is much upgraded on the 695 Dolce..Both 665 and 695 are Silver head, plated body and keywork

Forgot to add, 695 Dolces are also available with C# trill key and D# roller, 665's do not have these unless you were lucky enough to find a leftover limited edition anniversary 665 which included these options and a 10K Gold lip plate on that Forza...Currently, you cannot get the Extra option keywork on a 665. Only on the 695 Dolce (and 795 Elegante) series are these currently available.

You can always upgrade this further later down the road buy purchasing one of the Pro Cut handmade headjoints too..

im not so knowledgeable on the tech side of flutes.. what does upgraded keywork actually mean? so would the 665 with forza sound the same as the dolce? i just need something that will be very strong and help project my tone and be best in a concert setting (including solos)... and i love that wood case haha.. can i get that with the 665?

The keywork is heavier gauge and more finely sculpted, It doesn't affect the sound. Having the same headjoint should make them sound fairly alike. But having more robust keywork it has a much more solid feel to it to develope technique. The adjustment screws are slightly different and the F-F# has a clutch adjustment and no regulation screw like the quantz 665 has for that adjustment.

You can't get a 665 with the wood case. You can buy it separately as an accessory though.

Headjoints, As with all headjoints there is a probablity that almost any second headjoint must be fit. However, With our headjoints, the likelyhood that they will fit with minimal adjustment is most likely. I've fit more than a few Pro Japan headjoints on Dolces and Elegantes..

thanks, i do really like the deal with the 665, but if i wanted the wood case, what i could find the case alone is around 100... so i think its worth the extra 500 to get a inline flute instead of the offset with split e that is the special edition... i have never played a split e and im weary about it because of so many mixed reviews haha.

If there is no dealer in your area try one of the larger flute houses that also ship. Not all places can carry everything.

Complete Dealer list is here:
http://www.pearlflutes.com/dealers.html

The wood case will cost you more than $100 new. There is no difference in price for inline vs offset (with or without split E)

also, pearlflutes.com says the elegante has "precise intonation, and a brilliant
and projecting sound"... but it also says the dolce is made out of the same mold.. so does the dolce have "precise intonation, and a brilliant
and projecting sound.?"

which also lol.. you said the dolce and 665 with forza headjoing will sound fairly alike.. so would the 665 have the precise intonation, and a brilliant
and projecting sound. "precise intonation, and a brilliant
and projecting sound."?

sorry for pestering with so many questions.. its just i dont really have the option to try them out before i buy.. so i just want to know as much about the models im looking at as possible before i choose one.

main thing thats bothering me about my

<Added>

flute is that i am working on some really fast pieces that is doing some crazy double tounging and triple tounging and its not coming out very clear on my flute... but when i play it on a pearl supreme maesta 9851 it comes out clear and how it should. so i think its time to upgrade to a better flute.. but i do NOT have the funds for a flute like that haha. also i just really want the strong projecting flute sound and no matter what i do i cant get it to come out of my flute and i can do it on the more expensive instruments i have tried without having to put in more work then i normally do.. so idk if you recommend a certain model for the problems im having..

These are just out and only available at certain dealers. Supply is limited but will be increasing. The 665 with Forzas will only be offered as Offset w/Split E since these are the vast majority of what people prefer. We usually can accomodate a special order request, but this model is limited to select dealers at the present time.

You can't go by descriptions, You just have to play them.. If you've found something that works, that's what you should get..If it's a dolce with a forza, then that's what it is..The headjoint is what will give you that sound and articulation.
