Hi,

I purchased a Pearl Cantabile online from an individual who stated that he purchased the flute new for his daughter in the year 2000.

What headjoint was standard with this flute back then ? Was it the Forte or another type?

There was no "standard" headjoint that was issued. It will be marked on the back of the headjoint just below the crown. The Vivo headjoint was introduced in 2000. Depending on exactly when it was made, it may be a Vivo. The Forte did not come out until 2002.

Joe B,

The flute has the PHN-2 Bolero headjoint. There's no further description on Pearl's website. How does it compare with the rest?

The N2 was the traditional style headjoint with a bit more undercutting than the N1 "Classico". More Oval in style and not as big as the current crop of headjoints. These earlier headjoints had a different taper as well. The idea was to capture the "French" sound.
