I am VERY new to this thing called piccolo.... I am Dad. Daughter is going to be a sophomore in HS next year, has been playing flute since 5th grade and being her dad, I think she is pretty good (ok, I realize maybe not world renowned!!). She started playing the school's piccolo this year and has gotten pretty good with it. The school required turn in of all school property, so there it went. I went to a music store and paid $300 for a used (good condition per the store, and this was on consignment with them) Emerson Piccolo. There is very little info that I have on it... model, serial number (if they use it), did i pay too much....did I get a good deal..... ANYthing will help! Thanks!!

Desperate Dad!

I have pics, but not sure how to post them here.....

If it is in good condition, then $300 is probably an appropriate price for the instrument. What is the material of the piccolo? That will help me tell you what the model may be!

It is a composite (or at least not wood). Not sure if it is silver or not...but tarnished a bit like silver... the SN ON IT IS 9186. FINALLY found that...it was buried on the plate that holds all the keys/bars/etc.

Just to clarify, is the whole thing metal? Or is the body or part of it a black material of sorts?
