I like the whole range of the clarinet, nevertheless I would say that the clarion register is my favourite. I particularly donīt like the sound I produce in the altissimo register, but that is something that I have to work on.

i love low notes!!! they have a kind of haunting sound to them that not every instrument can make. well, maybe i'm biased bc i play bass clarinet, but i dont care. low notes are the shiz.

You cannot call someone out on their opinion. I like how you provided facts to support your opinion, but that does not make one register better than the other. By the way, 'base' is spelled 'bass'.

And for the record, the lower the better for me! I like little snippets of melody, but I really love the harmony even better!

low notes can be melody too! my freshman year in marching band, there was a clarinet feature in moorside march that went down to low E. the highest it went was D below the staff. and it was amazing!

On the Bb clarinet i love the notes generally between middle C and high C. They're real pretty.
I also play contrabass and the uber low notes are soo cool.
but again the notes above middle C are extremely pretty on a contra.

High notes are awsome. Extreamly low notes are fun too, but I still like the high notes better. Plus it's fun when you can hit a really high note that no one else can hit. The high notes just add something special. Yes flutes can play high too (so can bassoons, actually bassons have a 4 octave rang, instead of the 3 1/2 that we have but no one can realy hear high notes on a bassoon lol), but for some reason, high notes just sounds prettier on the clarinet.

I've always loved going high, now I like the really low ones as well, you can get so much power, but I think I still like the higher range better

i like playing really high on bass clarinet because it's not as startlingly ear piercing as on a soprano. i learned my C scale 4 octaves a few weeks ago (i have a low C bass clarinet- so this would be as high as a 3 octave C scale normally) although the top 3 notes are kind of out of tune, i'm not sure i'm using the best fingerings.

For me, I like low notes on my bass clarinet and soprano, but on my soprano high notes get really piercing to the ears.
