I just bought a used Clarinet, how would I clean it? I bought it at an auction, don`t want to use it until it is sterilized. Also I should buy new reeds?

buy new reeds for it and u can wash the mouthpeice with warm water this should be okay. run the pullthrough through it a couple of times?

Someone suggested for me to buy a reed size 2 or 2 1/2 since I was a beginner. Thanks so much for your reply.

I`d start with a 1 1/2 for a couple of months. Also get a teacher even if it is just for a few months so that you don`t get any bad habits.

yeh i started on 1 1/2 but i found it difficult so i moved down to 1 for a couple of months and then moved back up to 1 1/2 again. i have been playing 3 years and i use 2 1/2 at the moment i wouldn`t start with a reed that hard cos you might get bad intonation
