OK I inherited a Clarinet from my grandfather and we're trying to find out what model it is.

It's been brought to a few musician shops, 1 of them thinks it's an R13. The Serial number is 51031.

That number is in that time where there's a gap for the R13's. I'm told it's a 1951.

I type in the SN in Buffet's site, and it comes up with E12 Master Model, from 1985, and that's absolutely incorrect.

This clarinet is OLD. We were told that this serial number is in that gray area where it's uncertain what happened with those SN's.

So I don't know how to determine what it is.

Any help, appreciated.

Thanks.

I went to http://www.buffet-crampon.com/en/instruments.php and typed in the serial number, it says it is an E12 master model, made January 28th, 1985.

Ya I tried that too, but we know it's not from 1985.
