So my fiancé’s mom found an old Cundy Bettoney ebonite three star clarinet (made in USA) and gave it to us. It’s serial is 4106, I can’t find any info on these at all! I don’t know if I’m just not searching the right words, but I’m only finding their metal versions. It also had a selmer case for some reason. Can any help me with when it could have been made, worth, anything? It’s getting very frustrating.

The correct name will be BUNDY, not cundy. Try googling that name.

No, it even says cundy-bettoney on the instrument, they closed in 1960. if you Google it, their metal clarinets are the most commonly shown.

It was made sometime before 1961, and it's worth whatever music you can play on it. What do you mean when you say this woman "found" it? Bought it? Stole it? Discovered it in her attic? In an alley?

My mother-in-law is a hoarder to the fullest extent. Her house is wheelchair accessible but the average person cannot fit through walkways because of the amount of stuff , Whenever anyone in the family has died or was giving stuff away she took it. She has tax records from 1990. We don’t steal

So someone gave it your future mother-in-law, and now she's given it to you. If you play clarinet and the clarinet's in playable condition, play it. If you don't play clarinet, give it to someone who does. Don't worry about what it may be worth.
