How long do you guys keep your reeds for? I use mine until I chip it, or its extremely old. Generally for about 3 months. How long do u use your reed for? And do you selecta reed from a whole box of reeds? I just buy 2 at a time, and learn 2 get used to the reed.

It depends, some reeds is becoming useless very fast others I can use for two months. Yes, two months because after that the sound quality is affected. The first year I played I too played the reeds until they broke, now I never do that, just until the sound isn`t alright any longer. And, well, if I have the money I often buy a whole box of vandoren reeds but if I is really in need of one, singel good reed I buy just one checking it before I buy it. At least is should be cut the right way to make it easier to play (rather low, and sort of round).
