Ive been told by several ppl that you should NEVER march with a wooden clarinet BUT others have said as long as you oil it cracking shouldnt be a problem... What`s your opinion on this??

Hi,
Ithink that it is a risk, there is always more chance that it crack with a wooden than a plastic. I personaly think it`s better to have a plastic clarinet for marching band because it`s outside and thereis temperature variations.
That is only my opinion I am not a professional,

I agree with Sam. Using a wooden clarinet for marching band is a major risk. That is why i have 2 clarinets. A plastic one for marching band and a wooden one for concert band. My thing is: Never take your precious wooden clarinet out on the field for marching band. Just my opinion about that though.

my clarinet is cracked in two different places and i have never dropped it or anything. Is it because i used it in marching band? and does the crack make the clarinet sound worse? mine is always sharp i dont know if its because of the crack or not. is there any way I can get it fixed!?
