Is a plastic clarinet or a wooden one better for jazz and projection.

I`m a sax player who doubles on clarinet. I play a Buffet E13, which is commonly called "the doubler`s clarinet" I think it has an excellent sound. it`s bright and it projects amazingly. If that`s too costly for you, try a Buffet Evete 12

When playing jazz clarinet I use my plastic clarinet. I have played jazz on my wooden clarinet and it sounded good but just not as good as it did on the plastic one. I have a feeling that the reason it sounded better was because when I tried jazz on my wooden clarinet I had only just bought it and it might just have been that it hadn`t been broken in yet. But in my _very_ humble opinion plastic is better for jazz. Why don`t you go to a music shop and try playing the same jazz song on both a wooden and a plastic clarinet? This could help you make your mind up.
