what`s the difference between a clarinet thats made of wood and the normal type? ( the stuff that looks like plastic)

Well, one is made of wood, and the other is made of plastic. i myself have a wooden one, im am a freshman in hs and first chair, and i get beautiful topne out of it. if you are planning on taking on clarinet, invest in a wooden one it is a much better instrument. but, if you plan on doing marching band (i do both) then a plastic one may be better. hope i helped
