First off, Howdy and how are you =) I just found this board today, and thought it would be helpful after reading a few threads.

I bought a Buffet RC A Clarinet(circa..1976?) off of ebay for around 1200.. originally i wasn`t planning to bid so much for it, but some evil guy bid at the last moment and pushed the price up pretty high. I`m starting at Peabody this fall, and I thought an A clarinet would come in handy.

Does anyone no anything about the RCs? especially the older ones? All I can find on google is that it is somewhat the bastard brother of the R13 with a different bore. Not to mention every store has a different price for it.

Also, is an old clarinet necessarily bad? It plays wonderfully so far, especially in the higher register. B-D in the staff are tad stuffy. Is that`s a problem for all A clarinets?

Thanks for any replies =D

Hey Cat- sounds like something I can help you with. However, I`d rather talk to you through AIM or MSN, since back and forth questions on a forum like this would be akward. Plus, this forum isn`t that terrific for help with stuff like what you`re asking about either way.

My AIM s/n is insanitygonebad and my MSN is eurodesign75@hotmail.com

Hope to talk to you soon...

Bradley

Hi. I play clarinet in school. All the fourth-graders have to use old A Clarinets. They seem to work fine for us. I think that an old clarinet is just as good as a new one.
