I just got done with my trial period of 2 Buffet R13`s and I am extremely disappointed. They were just plain awful to say it in a nice way.

So I was looking up Selmers and came across The Selmer Saint Louis Bb Clarinet. Here`s some specs:

Features and Specs

Bore Size - 14.5mm (.571")
Two Barrels - 66.5mm & 64.5mm
Made of select grenadilla wood.
Integral tone holes chimneys.
Includes left hand Eb/Ab key.
Leather pads throughout with resonators on the lowest three notes.
Metal tenon sockets.
Multi-directional thumbrest.
Includes C85- 120 mouthpiece.

I personally would love the Eb lever and I`m interested in the leather pads and the resonators. Also, the multi-directional thumbrest seems unique and that it would be a nice thing to have! 2199.00, silver plated, extra Eb lever. R13 nickel keys are running about 2,095. The Selmer seems like a great deal to me!

Does anyone know anything about this clarinet?

What do you think about it? I would appreciate your help immenselly! Thank you!

I do not really know about the Selmer but I too tried the R-13 and did not really care for it. Instead I picked out a Buffet R-13 Festival which also has the left hand Eb key. To tell you the truth I really like to have that key there. In some pieces it just really helps to have it.
