Are oboists are hard to find ?

Why is no one here?! I know oboists are hard to find sometimes, but this is ridiculous!!!!

I used to have a Howarth XL with Gold-plated keys... Malcolm Messiters instrument. Then I gave it back to him.

LOL! I never would`ve guessed that was you Penny... You`re right Claire, oboists are stupidly diminished compared to all other instrumentalists!

...except of course, violists, bassoonists, trombonists, tubists, bassists etc

You know what? There are entirely too many flute players in the world. In fact, I think I will lay down my flute today and take up the oboe permanently. Excalibur, are you a guy flute player?
It`s nice to meet such a rarity.

I`m both a guy flautist and a guy oboist. The male woodwind section is incredibly small these days. Never mind I love it anyway!

I know an oboeist, but I have to wonder why there is no saxophone forum here.. if the oboe can get one..

And there is no tuba forum either...Discrimination!!

lol... I`m only 13. I`ve been playing for almost 2 years, and I`m tryin out for the county band in a few weeks... the song is pretty easy, but I`m really nervous. Last year when I tried out, I was renting this piece of crap from my school, and I didn`t make it. Now I have my own oboe. It`s a really nice Puchner (is that how you spell it?). It was only used for about a year, and I`ve had it since about March. Wow, I wrote a lot more than you guys...
