I pay $A30 for a reed from a retired bassoon prof. That'd be like ~ $23 US.
Mind you I bought a set of 5 over a year ago and they're all still working fine. (touch wood)
Most professional players though make their own, partly because of cost but also so they can
make/adjust them to the way they want it.
It's a good idea to get several and rotate them, so you get a feeling for different reeds.
Oboe reeds look so tiny to me. However do you get control on that little area ?
