Hi,

I'm learing to play oboe by teaching myself. I play flute and have abrsm grade 8.
I have got a haworth s20 and am having problems with a few notes. I can get every note in tune except for an A....or if i get that in tune then when i change to a G the two notes are terribly out of tune....do I need to change the embrochure between the 2 notes?

Also there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between playing B and C....again should I be changing my embrochure to do this and if so any ideas how?!?!

Thanks!!!

you should get your oboe checked for the B-C
because it could be key work problems such as lose screws or something...its wierd how your A is out of tune. A is usually the best tuning note on the oboe..could possibly be your key work aswell, how much reed are u taking in? and also remeber to use your tummy support.. very important..but yes, honestly i think if you want to learn the oboe, get a professional teacher, you really need a good teacher to start you off, its not easy learning the oboe by yourself, but yeah!
keep up the playing!
