Because there aren't many oboists.

Large demand = Cheap supply
ie: Trumpets, Clarinets, & Flutes

Small demand = Expensive supply
ie: Harps, Bassoons, and Oboes

OMG I went to a manufacturer tour. what they do is SO amazing.
