Where can you get composing software for your computer?

http://www.makemusic.com/notation_software.aspx - finale software

http://www.sibelius.com/home/index_flash.html - sibelius software
^^ both softwares offer basically the same thing on their programs for composing. I find Sibelius harder to use than Finale, but that's just me. Finale offers different types of software.. i.e. PrintMusic, Allegro, Notepad, and the full version of Finale itself. I'm not sure about Sibelius, but it could be the same way.

I have a PC.. unfortunately.

Where can I get the Switch software, and will it work on a PC? I'm running Windows XP.

I got a recording on there... and liek I said in the details, PLEASE don't make fun of how the oboe (me) sounds.. I really don't sound like that. Honestly, I really don't.

I'll try it, but I'm just hoping it won't slow our computer down.. PCs get waaaaaay to slow sometimes.

All I know is that I have to scan the music on my printer's scanner/copier and select the setting I want (which I'm pretty sure is as a PDF file) I've done it before, but I just don't know what setting it is.. I guess I'l have to try all of them.

Thats also how you use SmartScore. Open smartscore, itll ask you to scan the music, itll write it up, and voila! Only problem is, it makes a lot of mistakes and almost never works right. Maybe its me??? idk, but i dont ever use it.
