I was wondering if the buffets are any good. My mom said that I can`t get a loree becuase they are to exspensive, for a new one. I`m talking about the new ones not the old ones. I`ve asked my private teacher but he said he doesn`t know becuase he`s so into loree`s. And I heard that you don`t have to break them in becuase of a special coating inside is that true also?

Yes the two student and intermediate model Buffets are lined with luracast,a type of hard plastic which guards against cracking, the professional model Buffet oboe is very highly regarded here in the UK,and they also make their pr model in a Greenline option,a mixture of grenadilla dust and resin, which sounds the same as an all blackwood oboe but is not prone to atmospheric changes and cracking.
I am a beginner to the Oboe, after playing clarinet, flute and recorder and currently play a Ward and Winterbourne TW3a which is an intermediate instrument made here in England,I may well go fo the Greenline Buffet pro oboe in a couple of years when I need to upgrade.

I have an intermediat Buffet and i really like it! except for missing a few keys, it`s got a really nice, full sounds and the fact that it`s almost impossible to crack gives me a lot of comfort! i would definetly recommend it!

I had a Buffét before I got my Howarth and Buffét is good. I think it is just as good as Lorée. The only reason for the expenciveness of lorée`s is because they are well known brand. My teahcer had a lorée and she doesm`t understands why they are so expensive. When you buy a lorée then you are just paying extra for the brand logo
