THATS WHAT I THINK WAS WHAT SHE WAS TRYING TO SAY. If not, Amanda has very poor grammer skills.

hey, be nice you guys....she`s just looking for help...first of all, she`s in the oboe section, so my guess is she`s talking about the fingering for Db on the oboe! so, in reply to your question, nope, there`s no alternate Db fingering that i know of! sorry! i know there should be one!

Thanks Eric. Now I know that "flat" means b.

But there is no alternatives for C# or Db. But on most of modern oboes then there is an alternative Eb button and the H and B buttons often hold down the C button.

hey, i`ve never used any alternate fingerings, but i looked on the fingerings att www.wfg.woodwind.org
C# / Db alternate fingerings:
0 = half-hole
023 / 123 C#
23 / 123 C#
/ 1
1 3 / 123 C#
1 C# <-----that`s the trill key

if you don`t understand that, then go to http://www.wfg.woodwind.org/oboe/ob_alt_2.html
I hope you mean 2nd/middle octave

AND ---- for future reference, go to http://www.wfg.woodwind.org/oboe for oboe fingerings; or just http://www.wfg.woodwind.org/fing.html to find almost any woodwind.
good luck!

to thoes of you that are wondering about alternate fingerings: it depends on what t ype of oboe you have, some oboe`s have different keys than others. but there are a bunch of alternate fingerings, my suggestion is to search for a fingering chart of an oboe that has the same keys as you, in other words, find one that is the same brand and model number. hope you can find one, cuz unless i know what type of oboe you have, i dont really know what keys you have that are alternate fingerings.
