So for the past few years, I've noticed that sometimes when I play, my reeds split right down the middle. I'm not smashing them into anything, and I thought maybe it was the weather or not soaking it in warm enough water, and maybe those are still the reasons, but two private teachers I've had find it strange. Has this happened to anyone else? It literally happens while the reed is in my mouth and I am playing my oboe.

Th9s happen to me! I just think maybe get a different reed, maybe a stronger reed. Or maybe a new brand.
