if you had to choose between an automatic oboe Howarth s40 and a semi-automatic oboe yamaha yob-431 as the first oboe to learn how to play, what would you choose?

I prefer the semi-automatic system, and I do not recommend the yamaha yob-431 because it is missing a crucial key for a young oboist's development. The Howarth s40 is available in semi-automatic...you should be able to find one.
