I've only recently started Oboe, but I'm considering making it my primary instrument. Does anybody know which universities in Tennessee are best for Oboe (preferable public colleges)?

Best to choose the school for the oboe professor. Here are some good ones:
- Michael Adduci, TN Tech; www.tntech.edu/directory/fine-arts/music/michael-adduci.php
- Phyllis Secrist, UT Knoxville; https://music.utk.edu/faculty/secrist.php
- Rebecca Van de Ven, Sewanee University; http://www.sewanee.edu/academics/music/facstaff/adjunct-faculty/van-de-ven.php
- Heather Killmeyer, East TN State; https://www.etsu.edu/cas/music/faculty_staff/killmeyer.php

I recommend that you take some private lessons from each of these professors to gauge how you like their teaching style. Then, if you like more than one, you can further narrow the list by examining the Music dept and any other majors that you might be interested in.
