I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has purchased hand-made oboe reeds from a supplier on the Internet. Has anyone found a supplier whose quality seems to be consistently good?

Thanks. Bob

Edmund Nielsen sells hand-made reeds, their website is
www.nielsen-woodwinds.com, make sure you get the long or american scrape reeds, preferably professional quality too.

www.oboe.net is the BEST supplier. They ask you how long you have been playing, your instrument brand, what kind of sound you want, what type of ensemble you are playing in and make a GREAT reed. The steps they used to make the reed that works for you are saved in a database, so that every reed is consistent. Not only is this the best company i have used (now i make my own), but all of my students of different levels also, AND they are cheaper than many store bought reeds!
